It's been over 10 years since I penned my first news brief and since then, I've written for a wide range of publications - B2B healthcare newsletters, an alternative health magazine, national broadsheets and tabloids, market reports, and even an eyewear fashion magazine.
The best bit of being a journalist is the incredible spectrum of people that I've come across in my interviews - from CEOs at the helm of global conglomerates to illegal immigrants trying to scrape a new life for themselves.
As the Editor of Clinica, I cover the wheeling and dealing - always in the legitimate sense, of course - that goes on in the medtech industry. The big mergers and the bolt-on acquisitions, who's suing who, whose top-line is soaring and whose bottom-line is sinking.
While keeping one eye on the big players, I focus the other on the "little guys", the innovative start-ups working on tomorrow's technologies.
Through Medtech Ventures, which I launched two years ago, I keep abreast of what the next best thing is in medical technologies and it never ceases to amaze me the depth of ingenuity that the human mind is capable of - who said there's no creativity in science?
