Cardiac Science (Bothell, Washington), a specialist in advanced devices for cardiac diagnosis, resuscitation, rehabilitation and informatics, has appointed David Marver to executive vice-president and the newly-created position of COO.

Mr Marver will now manage the daily operations of the company.

“We created the COO position to build our strategic capabilities at a senior level,” said John Hinson, the firm’s president and CEO.

Mr Marver joins from Medtronic, where he served for 14 years in a number of vice-president level positions, including for strategy and business development, sales and marketing and product strategy; he also led commercial activities for Medtronic’s cardiac rhythm management division in western Europe.
