The AU480 comes with additional user-friendly capabilities and safety features |
The new analyser is designed to minimise sample volume requirements. It comes with additional user-friendly capabilities and safety features, such as touch-screen graphical user interface (GUI), user-definable software application and master curve calibration.
According to Kerri Breasley, Olympus' commercial marketing manager, clinical chemistry, these new updates enable the AU480 to “maximise output and minimise downtime.”
The AU480 is said to be the ideal main analyser for small to medium-sized laboratories, due to its throughput of up to 800 tests per hour with ISE. It is simultaneously programmable for 63 different analytes. The analyser can also be used as a special chemistry or STAT analyser in large laboratories.
High precision micro-sampling from as low as 1µl can be achieved with the analyser, making it a suitable system for paediatric testing, Olympus claims. Computer controlled sample and reagent dispensing, in combination with clot detection and crash prevention, are additional safety features of the AU480.
More than 120 different Olympus System Reagent (OSR) applications are available for the AU480. All reagents are barcoded with master curve calibration established for some parameters via 2D barcodes to maximise productivity in the laboratory.
